Event Sales Manager (F/M)


About us:

Our company (The Airport Agency) is based in Lyon, France. For the past 18 years, we have been organising prestigious b2b events dedicated to the aviation industry, focusing on networking, conference and exhibition.

Our flagship event takes place on a yearly basis in a different country and is attended by over 650 participants including airlines, airports and tourism agencies.


Do you enjoy the excitement and challenges of organising international events? Would you like to be part of a small team where you can make a difference? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced bilingual (French/English) Events and Sales manager to join a vibrant event team focused on the aviation industry.


Reporting to the CEO, the Event & Sales Manager will contribute to the delivery of the events sales budget, with responsibility for converting new business. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and agility, the gravitas to become an integral part of the team and will be required to demonstrate management tactics, processes and procedures whilst being responsible for driving revenue.


Key Responsibilities:

· Dealing with inbound sales enquiries in a timely, efficient manner and to a high standard

· Pro-actively contacting new business prospects through appropriate channels

· Qualifying and converting leads into confirmed business

· Creating bespoke sponsorship proposals

· Building strong client relationships to ensure sustainable business growth

· Drafting, discussing and issuing contracts for clients

· Invoicing, collecting debts and general administration support


Skills and Experience:


· Dealing with inbound sales enquiries in a timely, efficient manner and to a high standard

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Previous experience in the aviation industry (working for an airport and/or airline or related)

· A strong interest and experience in aviation

· A proven track record in the delivery of sales targets

· Extremely organised and can work under pressure

· Able to work well independently and as part of a team

· Confident, passionate and driven

· Must be highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic

· Bilingual English / French – any additional European language a plus.


As we’re strong believer in “in person events”, we equally believe in the power of working together in the same office: this position is based in Lyon and will require you to be based in/around Lyon.
